Jonathan Borg serves as the firm’s strategic advisor in the maritime, energy, and logistics sectors. With 38 years of operational experience across diverse global contexts, he brings to Dalli Advocates a depth of practical, commercial, and technical expertise that enables clients to navigate the complexities of international maritime operations with confidence.
Mr Borg has worked across both the public and private sectors and is recognised as an authority on international maritime policy, port infrastructure, and regulatory affairs. As founder and director of multiple international maritime and oilfield service enterprises, he has spent decades facilitating high-level corporate negotiations and implementing cross-border business strategies across the Mediterranean, the North Sea, the Middle East, West Africa, and the Americas. His direct engagement with the challenges faced by international drilling contractors and maritime operators gives him an acute understanding of the sector’s commercial and operational realities.
He has a strong track record in reviewing and advising on complex international maritime contracts, master service agreements, and rig and vessel chartering arrangements, ensuring that clients’ commercial transactions are both operationally sound and legally robust. He is also the developer of the “One Contact, One Contract” service model, which has enhanced logistics and infrastructure support within the international energy corridor.
His tenure on high-level statutory boards , including those focused on maritime security, safety, and pollution prevention , affords him a profound understanding of the internal workings of government ministries, public-private partnerships, and regulatory bodies. In this capacity, he assists clients in navigating regulatory compliance, port regeneration initiatives, and policy alignment.
